Here is the $64,000,000 question.....can the Palestinians be trusted to live
in peace with Israel if they are given their own state?
Their rule over Gaza doesnt say much for ability to be peaceful. Gaza was
supposed to be a test case. It was supposed to be the Palestinians
min-state, where they would show how a future, much larger independant
Palestine would behave. The Palestinians have fired rockets into Israel
from Gaza, they have torn down border walls, they have trashed the
greenhouses and shown zero respect for Jewish houses of worship.
I believe the Palestinians should have most (if not all) of the West Bank,
East Jerusalem, and the Old City. But I dont expect Israel to commit
suicide. If the Palestinians cant prove that they can lawfully and
peacefully rule their own state, then Israel will have no reason to give
them any more land then they already have. When the Palestinians decide to
start acting civilized and peace loving, they should be given the lands they
deserve. However, if they keep things up the way things are going, let them
rot in Gaza.
