there are those in this and other groups who are confused by my seamingly
conflicting beliefs and political views. so let me put it out, what exactly
I believe. please catch me if put out a post that counters one of these
beliefs.
1. i believe that Israel has a right to exist, within the 1949 borders (or
close to it based on negotiations).
2. i believe that israel should control the jewish quarter and the western
wall of jerusalem, and the muslems and christians have the rest. but the
city should be open to all to visit and pray.
3. i believe that Israel should be a jewish state...and a democracy, with
freedom and equal rights for all citizens.
4. i believe the holocaust is a terrible reality, that should teach the
world about how inhumane mankind can be. the holocaust should be taught as
lesson about humanity, not just about the Jews.
5. I believe that some jews and some israelis manipulate the tragedy,
memory, and guilt of the holocaust to garner support for Israeli right wing
policies.
6. I believe that the USA should abandon all free trade agreemants. they
are bad for america and clearly do nothing to improve the standard of living
of workers in other countries.
7. I believe that the USA should build a strong fence along the Mexian
border, quadruple the number of border agents, create a 5 year guest worker
program, and round up and deport all illegal aliens.
8. I believe that christians are unfairly and unjustly targeted by
secularists, while they leave minority religions alone.
9. I believe that the USA should not have invaded Iraq, but now that we are
there it is our responsibility to leave something resembling a stable
country behind. The loss of 1,000 soldiers a year, if in the end we
create a stable country, is a worthwhile sacrifice. we lost 50,000 soldiers
in vietnam and accomplished nothing.
10. I believe that the USA should destroy Iran's nuclear sites if they
refuse a peaceful compromise and forgoe nuclear weapons.
11. I believe that the USA should start supporting democractic and left
leaning political groups in the Middle East. Id rather a leftist Middle
East then an Islamic Caliphate.
12. I believe that Jews need to realize that the exile is over, and we
should start adjusting our behavior and thoughts accordingly. If, deep
down, you care more about Israel then the nation you live in, you should
move their immediately. And that goes for any other Americans who has dual
loyalty.
13. I think George Bush took advantage of 9-11 to push through police
powers that they have wanted for years, but never had an excuse to push
through.
14. I think if there is another terrorist attack, Bush will ask to suspend
the 2008 elections.
15. I think Bush had nothing to do with 9-11, but he sure has profited from
it. Which is very very scarey.
16. I think Israel had nothing to do with 9-11, but many Israelis saw it as
an opportunity to get the USA on its side. which is very very not cool.
17. I believe that just goals are accomplished by just means. South Africa
was freed by non-violent protest. Segregation was ended by non-violent
protest. Palestine will never be an independant state as long as
Palestinians try to create it through violence.
18. I believe that terrorism is the knowingly and intentional targeting of
non-combatants. That means children, elderly, and adults who are not
members of the military. i.e. the targeting of off-duty Israeli soldiers
is not terrorism, but it is terrorism if they are just targeted because they
are Israelis and there is no evidence if they are in the military or not.
