there is one simpk reason why all israeli settlemants in the west bank, the
golan, and east jerusalem are illegal. The Geneva Conventions says so.
According to the Geneva Conventions, warring parties can not settle their
civilian populations in conquered territiory until the sides agree upon a
final status of the lands. This means Israel and Jordan had to sit down and
agree upon the final status of these territories before Israel could legally
settle anyone on them. In 1984 Jordan game responcibility for east
jerusalem and the west bank to the PLO. this means that no outside
civilians, from either side, could be brought in and settled in the lands
until the PLO and Israel came to a final decision on the status of the
lands.
Israel has signed the Gevena Conventions and is bound to uphold its laws.
......but on the other hand, Israel, within the pre-1967 borders, is a
recognized member of the United Nations and is therefore, legal.
